Hello World!
Welcome to my website!
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Chile. I received my Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego (2017), an M.A. in Sociology from the Catholic University of Chile(2010), and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Chile (2008).
My research focuses on social class, work and employment relations, and political conflict, with a particular emphasis on Latin America. From a comparative perspective, I study the institutional and political factors that shape industrial relations dynamics—especially labor conflict—and the role of labor unions in worker mobilization both within and beyond the workplace. Details about my current research projects can be found here.I am the author of Building Power to Shape Labor Policy (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2023). My work has been published in journals such as The European Journal of Industrial Relations, The Journal of Industrial Relations, Economic and Industrial Democracy, Research in Social Stratification and Mobility, Critical Sociology, and Business and Politics.
I regularly teach courses on the Sociology of Work and Quantitative Research Methods.
In addition to my research and teaching, I serve on the Editorial Board of the American Sociological Review and as Editor of the Revista de Sociología.
